Steve Martin's best gag in 20 years

If you ever perchance to meet comedy superstar Steve Martin, he may well give you his business card. It's the funniest I've seen in years and I just had to share it with you.

If only his films were as funny these days. Sigh.

His collections of writings from the New Yorker etc are great, though, and worth a look (his plays are all right, too). I don't trust a film he's in unless he writes it nowadays, but the last one of those was Bowfinger, which was a while ago. Sigh.

He does write splendidly and I enjoyed his (very slim) biography thingy. But all of that pales into insignificance when weighed against Pink Panther ...

Oh how I long for a new Man with two brains or Dead men don't wear plaid!

Yes his films are pretty dire. What a daft thing to do to try and mimic The Pink Panther. Total madness.

Must look out for his writing though. Thanks for this.

I didn't know about this tidbit Martin vintage. Great.

His older films were the funniest! Love this card.

Winifred - What was he thinking, eh? I don't mind remakes if they bring something new to the characters. It can be done. But why do it? Are there really no new writers and plots out there?

Mandi M - Thanks! I shall claim it as soon as possible!

Lakeviewer - A pleasure to meet you. It made me laugh.

Willow - Very true. Spooky new pic by the way. Looks like a head in a box. Eek.
