Happy St Piran's Day to all my Cornish chums

Or, as we say in Cornish, 'Lowen dydh sen Pyran!'

I hear tell that some local authorities in Cornwall gave their staff a day off for St. Piran's Day. Probably the start of a general push to make it a bank holiday in Cornwall!

Here is the only place I know of in America that has adopted your holiday:

Chris - Yes indeedy. And the formation of the new Cornish Unitary Authority in a few weeks is one step closer to an Assembly/Senedh. So who knows?

Mari - Thanks for the link. Dig a little deeper and you'll find the descendants of Conish settlers - mostly miners - celebrating St Piran's Day all over this fair globe. Big, big presence in Australia for instance.
