Brave Daisy

My wittering on about morphic resonance and memetics yesterday made me remember this cartoon I did back in the early 1990s. I was going through a kind of Gary Larson Far Side phase at the time. Which probably explains this cartoon too ...

Stevyn,

Why is it that cows, despite their obvious female characteristics, are often shown in cartoons and adverts as having what appear to be masculine traits? I'm thinking particularly of the SAS cows in the Dairylea ads; you may be able to think of more. Aside from this, I recently watched a video entitled "Kung Pow" (if you haven't seen it, do so as soon as possible), where the martial arts-trained female bovine is most definitely overstocked in the testosterone department!

You're right Chris. For some reason, advertisers seem not to realise that udders are cow boobies ... so boy cows should have a tummy stick instead.

Yes, very Larsonesque and i just love Rex, who looks like he just enjoyed a bottle of Stolly!

Rob - Rex says Cheers! Hic! Yes, I did go a bit 'Far Side' back then. I'm all better now.

Chris - You'll recognise some of these old jokes from our Hendon days ... I suspect a few will emerge soon that you wrote ...

Chris - I shall!

Willow - Rex is great but a nightmare to groom.

Me - What? I'm right aren't I?
