The vertical world

A shot also taken in London today from a fourth floor office window in Marylebone. In fact, it's two photos spliced together - hence the slightly odd perspective. I just loved all the little walkways and roof gardens and the toilet brush out on the windowsill. London is a whole world of closely-built offices and dwelings so densely-packed that you can walk between them. I was once told, years ago, that there is only one detached property in the whole of London W1 and that it's possible to travel from one side of the W1 postal district to the other without once touching the ground.

I can quite believe it.
